Working with Guidance

Have you always wanted to make your own piece of furniture, but don't know where to start? At the Haagse Werkplaats we are happy to help you realize your dream project!

The Hague Workshop

At the Haagse Werkplaats we believe in the power of creativity and craftsmanship. That is why we offer the opportunity to work on your own project under supervision. With our extensive collection of tools and machines you can work more efficiently and achieve a beautiful result. Safety is our top priority: we ensure that you learn how to use the equipment responsibly. During 'Working with Supervision' we offer personal support, share knowledge and keep an eye on things.

What can you expect?

Our program is specifically designed to provide you with the right guidance for your project. Below you can read what you can expect:

Get to work yourself

This course teaches you to work independently in our professional workshop. Our guidance helps you get started, ensures that you work safely and thinks along with you about specific questions about your project. At the end of the day you will be familiar with our machines and tools, so that you can continue to work independently in the future.

Design

To save time, we recommend making a design in advance. We are happy to think along with you about possible adjustments or improvements, so that your design is feasible and sustainable.

Machines and tools

In our well-equipped workshop you will be introduced to various machines and tools required for woodworking. We will teach you how to use them safely and effectively, from sawing to sanding and milling.

Wood joints

An important part of furniture making is mastering wood joining techniques. We help you choose and make strong and aesthetically pleasing joints, such as dowel and domino joints.

Materials

We stock a wide range of materials, such as wood, screws, drill bits and glue. Because projects vary in size, materials are not included in the course price. Wood is charged per meter and small materials can be purchased per piece in our self-service shop. This way you only pay for what you use.

What do you learn?

By the end of the day, you'll be well on your way to your project. For example, you'll have learned how to:

  • You can work safely with various tools
  • Which connections are best to use in your project
  • What steps you still need to take to complete the project

Come to the Hague Workshop and discover how fun and educational it is to make your own piece of furniture under expert guidance!
