Want to learn how to give furniture a second life with new upholstery? Whether you're a beginner or an avid DIYer, our basic upholstery course is the perfect way to get acquainted with this craft! During this course you will learn the fundamentals of furniture upholstery and you will get started with covering a stool yourself.

What you can expect:

🔹 Introduction to materials
Discover the different fabrics, fillings and materials used in the upholstery industry. Learn which materials are suitable for various projects and how to make the right choice.

🔹 Use of basic tools
Get to know essential tools such as tackers, upholstery shears and hammers, and learn how to use them professionally.

🔹 Cutting techniques and material calculation
Develop skills to cut fabric accurately and align patterns correctly to ensure a clean, durable result.

🔹 Fastening techniques
Learn different techniques such as stapling, gluing and nailing, and discover which method suits your project best.

🔹 Tensioning and attaching straps
We cover how to properly stretch fabrics and apply webbing for a firm and comfortable seat.

🔹 Finishing and details
Learn how to create a professional-looking finish with piping, buttons and other decorative details.

Get started in a practical way: your own upholstered stool!

During the course you will not only learn theory, but also get started right away. We provide a wooden stool that you learn to upholster with webbing and upholstery. This way you can apply the techniques directly in practice and go home with a beautiful piece of furniture upholstered by you!

I don't speak Dutch, can I still take the course?

Answer:
Yes, our courses are accessible for non-Dutch speaking participants. Most instructors also speak English and can adjust the explanation where necessary. If you have specific language questions, please contact us in advance so we can see what is possible!

I can't make the available dates, what now?

Answer:
If you are not available on the scheduled dates, you can register for the waiting list on the page of the relevant course. As soon as new dates are online, you will automatically receive an email so you can register immediately!

I missed a course day, what now?

Answer:

If you miss a class, we will work together to find a suitable solution.

For some courses, it's possible to make up for a missed lesson independently at our workshop. You can then book a workspace yourself through our regular system. Please note that there are costs involved and that there is no personal guidance as during the course itself.

Is the course less suitable for catching up independently? We'll place you on the waiting list for the next course series. If a series isn't full, we'll fill it with participants from the waiting list.
