Home improvement course: The Basics in The Hague!

Do you want to be less dependent on others and be able to tackle chores around the house yourself? Then our course is perfect for you! In just three evenings you will learn essential skills and knowledge needed to independently carry out common jobs around the house.

What you learn:
  • How to use essential tools for home repairs.
  • Techniques for safe and efficient drilling in different surfaces.
  • Tips for hanging objects, such as shelves and lamps, level and sturdy.
  • Basic electrical connections, including safely connecting a lamp.
  • How to perform simple woodworking tasks, such as making a plank or a sanding block.
Our course also covers:
  • Wall repairs: Learn to recognize damage and repair it effectively.
  • Correctly closing holes by filling and using different types of sealant and glue.
  • Basic carpentry, including measuring, marking, sawing, sanding and gluing.

I don't speak Dutch, can I still take the course?

Answer:
Yes, our courses are accessible for non-Dutch speaking participants. Most instructors also speak English and can adjust the explanation where necessary. If you have specific language questions, please contact us in advance so we can see what is possible!

I can't make the available dates, what now?

Answer:
If you are not available on the scheduled dates, you can register for the waiting list on the page of the relevant course. As soon as new dates are online, you will automatically receive an email so you can register immediately!

I missed a course day, what now?

Answer:

If you miss a class, we will work together to find a suitable solution.

For some courses, it's possible to make up for a missed lesson independently at our workshop. You can then book a workspace yourself through our regular system. Please note that there are costs involved and that there is no personal guidance as during the course itself.

Is the course less suitable for catching up independently? We'll place you on the waiting list for the next course series. If a series isn't full, we'll fill it with participants from the waiting list.
